Like chocolate, jam is one of Christmas' traditional delicacies. The round and soft marmalade balls evoke childhood memories in many families.
The jam has been part of Fazer's Christmas assortment since the end of the 19th century when Karl Fazer took the recipe from St. Petersburg, where he studied. The green balls were first sold in Helsinki in 1929. The royal crown on the marmalade box has become a well-known symbol of Fazer's marmalade.
Today, the tradition of Fazer's Christmas jam is passed from one generation to the next. The marmalade balls are manufactured in Fazer's own factory in Lappeenranta.
